- Birth coaching usually takes place outside of your home environment and requires you to interact with your coach in a one-on-one setting or in a small group, where the coach is leading the coaching sessions. The birth coach encourages you to set goals for yourself and she motivates you to achieve them. Birth readiness classes and antenatal classes are very similar, they are mainly led by a facilitator or a birth educator in an impersonal class environment.
