Empowerment in Africa

I am passionate about empowering women, especially women in impoverished communities. So, this page is dedicated to bringing awareness to various foundations and organizations that are instrumental in empowering women, in impoverished places, in Africa. They do this by providing means to improve skills, training and ongoing income opportunities so the women can make a sustainable living. These initiatives have brought about, and continue to bring, profound life changes to women in marginalized communities across the African continent, and I truly respect and admire the work they do.

You can also contribute to their incredible mission by simply purchasing the Beautiful Birth Magnificent Mom eBook and $10 of the purchase price will go to the foundation of your choice; or by clicking on the respective foundation/organization and making a donation directly to them.

Foundations

ZanaAfrica Foundation equips adolescent girls in Kenya with the tools they need to safely navigate puberty and step into their potential, while also leading global advocacy efforts to break the “period” taboo.

Empower Tanzania works in partnership with rural Tanzanians to improve their quality of life. They address underlying issues that hinder resiliency in rural areas, including health care, education, agricultural practices, markets for products and increasing water supply and quality.

The Panzi Foundation provides critical front-line support for survivors of sexual violence in Congo. Panzi creates a safe space that supports the women’s physical healing as well as their emotional recovery in order for them to rebuild their livelihoods. Ultimately, Panzi contributes to the long term sustainable restoration of communities in the war-torn Congo.
